Apam (E/R), May 8, GNA - The National President of the Cocoa, Coffee and Sheanut Farmers Association, Nana Ahuma Kpanyinli VI, has appealed to farmers and fishermen to attach great importance to the voters' registration exercise.

"We must ensure that our names and those of our dependants who have attained the age of 18 are in the register to empower us to elect people who can champion our cause in the December eight polls."

Nana Ahuma Kpanyinli, who was speaking to Ghana News Agency at Apam on Saturday, appealed to politicians to conduct their electioneering campaign in a peaceful manner. On the current economic problems facing the nation, he urged farmers not to panic because the government was working hard to stem the tide.

He advised them to grow non-traditional crops in addition to cocoa, coffee and shea to offset the effect of falling world market prices on their produce.
