Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the former Deputy Minister of Information under the erstwhile Mahama administration, has strongly criticized the MP for Abuakwa South constituency, Samuel Atta Akyea, describing his recent comments about journalists as 'loose talk'.

Atta Akyea, during the NPP's manifesto launch on August 18, 2024, compared the economic prowess of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to John Mahama, who is touted as an effective communicator.

Atta Akyea suggested that Ghanaians must vote to hand over the country to an economist instead of a journalist.

Reacting to the comments in a post shared on X, Kwakye Ofosu said, "Loose talk. First, he believes journalists are unworthy of leadership."

The former minister stated that Atta Akyea wants Ghanaians to entrust the country into the hands of Dr. Bawumia, whom he described as "a sham economist whose despair, shallow populism, and complete inefficiency as head of the Economic Management team brought the country to the worst economic crisis."

"Second, he wants Ghana handed over to the very pseudo-economist, whose hopelessness, shallow populism, and utter uselessness as Head of the Economic Management Team have plunged us into the worst economic crisis," he stated.
