Fertilizers worth GHC600,000 stolen from warehouse in Sunyani

Fertilizers estimated at Gh 600,000.00 have been stolen from a warehouse belonging to Ministry of Food and Agriculture(MOFA) in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The fertilizers were part of consignment meant for the Planting for Food and Jobs programme in the Sunyani Municipality.

Seven workers of the MOFA are in the hands of the police helping in investigation.

Addressing the media in Sunyani, the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Kweku Asomah-Cheremeh said the Police and the BNI have begun an investigation into the incident.

Mr Asomah-Cheremeh said no one caught in the act would be shielded.

He said his outfit is waiting patiently for the police to conclude its investigations this he said would enable them to know the next step to be taken.

He noted that the incident would not affect the ongoing Planting for Food and Jobs as there are enough fertilizers in stock for the programme.
