...AS YOUNG WARRIORS AND OLD GUARDS CLASH OVER WHO SHOULD SPEAK

Reliable sources has intimated about a growing tension at the Castle between President Kufuor’s old and trusted guards and the new breed of suvvy and aggressive young men who are jockeying for positions within the presidency.

At the centre of this feud is the question of who can speak on behalf of the president and the government especially to the press.

Whilst the young guards who have been appointed as government spokespersons claim that right to be their own, the old guards represented by the Chief of Staff, Mr. Kwadwo Mpiani, are trying to rein them in and insist that they could only speak with prior authorization by him.

Sources however revealed that some of the government spokespersons have threatened to resign if attempts are made to limit their mandate.

Meanwhile, President Kufuor has kept above the fray and it is he only who will ultimately decide who speaks for him.
