General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has commended President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo- Addo on the fight against galamsey (illegal Mining).
General Mosquito as he is affectionately called, gave the rare commendation on Atinka FM’s AM Drive hosted by Ekourba Gyasi.
Asiedu Nketia said the fight against galamsey is a good course, which every Ghanaian must support.
He noted that the social democrats like the NDC are environmentally conscious, hence they are in support of every action that seeks to protect the environment.
He however questioned why the ruling party never supported the then Mahama administration to fight galamsey when they were in opposition.
General Mosquito argued that the fight against galamsey would have been easier now if the then opposition NPP had supported the previous administration to fight the menace.
