Accra, Nov. 17 The findings and recommendations on allegations of impropriety and fraud against some public office holders including top government officials have not been shelved.
Mr Justice Francis Emile Short, Commissioner on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) told a press conference in Accra that action had been taken on some of the recommendations by the appropriate authorities.
Mr Short was answering questions at the Meet-The-Press series organised by the Ministry of Communications.
He said some of the political office holders against whom adverse findings were made "are no more occupying their positions."
Mr Short conceeded, however, that not all of the commission's recommendations made in its reports have been complied with.
The Commissioner said CHRAJ is in the process of engaging in dialogue with authorities and institutions to implement the recommendations.
On deconfiscation of assets, Mr Short said through the 'gallant effort ' of CHRAJ, a substantial number of assets confiscated have been given back to their rightful owners. He did not give any figures.
