Fire razes homes in Aboabo

About 50 occupants of a compound house at Aboabo near middle B JHS, a suburb of Kumasi have been left devastated after fire gutted the building in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The inferno which engulfed the entire building destroyed properties worth thousands of cedis including belongings of residents.

Despite efforts of fire service personnel to salvage the situation, the extent of damage was too great.

Residents who obviously were distraught told Ghanaweb that the incident has rendered them homeless and helpless, leaving them to wonder where to lay their heads tonight.

"I am devastated. How do I cope with life?" he said.

"Maybe a miracle would happen. If that happens, fine but for now, there is too much to worry about”, another affected occupant said.

"The disaster means hell for us. Nobody would have expected this”, a third said.

This is at least the second time fire has gutted shops and building in Kumasi and its environs in just three days.
