First Auto Show Opens on June 2

BARELY six months ago, the Ghana Automobile Distributors Association (GADA) was inaugurated with a mission . . . to improve, support and sustain the growth and development of an efficient and safe motor transport industry in Ghana through the delivery of world class products and series. It also aims at enhancing value to all stockholders and be responsible corporate citizens.

To realise these ideals, GADA among other efforts, initiated AUTOMAX, a professional motor show event that will showcase GADA members and the various auto brands they distribute.

As the first of its kind by GADA, AUTOMAX will provide a business — focused platform for participants, visitors and other stakeholders in the motor and transport industry in Ghana. No doubt, it is an indication that the automobile distribution sector of the Ghanaian economy has come of age.

Automax as an event, will compare favourably with European and North American Motor shows in many aspects. However, while the foreign shows place emphasis on technical innovations in the new models presented by their manufacturers. AUTOMAX will have sole distributors and importers showing models already launched in advanced markets and what they have on offer. Also participating in AUTOMAX are companies and related industries in namely financial, fuel and lubricants and accessories.

With the majority of GADA members taking part in AUTOMAX, it should turn out to be rewarding and successful. However, GADA would have wished that all members were on board. It is understandable that being the first of its kind it is not unusual to see that some of the members could not participate for one reason or the other. This maiden event will, therefore, serve as the ground-breaker that should get all members on board the next time round.

For three continuous days AUTOMAX will afford all interested parties the unique opportunity of seeing, touching, feeling, test driving, comparing and contrasting the intrinsic as well as aesthetic values embodied in the various models that will be on display.

Especially for discerning customers, it will be an auto festival of quality not yet attained in the country. Indeed, it is an event that should not be missed by anyone. To all intents and purposes, issues of safety, cost or value — for- money and the environment will be exposed and expanded upon for the benefit of all participants.

To all who in various ways have made AUTOMAX a possibility, GADA says thank you and may we continue to co-operate to achieve greater things.
