The World is gradually taking a different turn as old and unacceptable habits are being dropped and people are drawing closer and clinching to their faith.

In recent years Bill Clinton former US President banned smoking on the white house grounds and the ban continued through the Bush years to President Obama. Even though a former smoker he has continued the tradition. In the same vein many public restaurants and hotels have banned smoking and in certain quarters drinking in public has been outlawed.

The Adonai Hotel, the first class luxury located in the heart of Ghana a few miles from the Greenwich meridian has gone further and set a pace that is yet to be matched in the hospitality industry. Today Ghana has seen a hotel that does not serve any alcoholic beverage and does not allow smoking on its premises. In furtherance of it mission as a Christian Hotel the room have been named according to the attributes of God , examples being Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Nissi, Jehovah Adonai etc.

One can really smell the breath of God in that environment with the air filled with smooth and refreshing gospel music round the clock. According to the owner , the Banahene twin brothers who are based in Virginia USA,”it is classified as a Christian hotel because it was built and operated based on the Christian concepts” The Hotel has therefore been named Adonai which translates to “Sovereign God”

Explaining further, Emmanuel the younger of the Banahene twin brothers said “The Lord spoke to me to build Him a House where preachers, Pastors, ministers and missionaries can stay when they are in Ghana for His work. I did not know how, considering the financial constraints, until God spoke to me one day and said "attempt great things For God; and expect great things From God". A Nigerian Pastor told me in Ghana that I have taken shame out of Christianity. To him, most Christians hide Christ in their businesses. But for me, I have uplifted His name.” In an interview with the Afrikan Post the Banahene brother s stretched a welcome hand to all and sundry regardless of their faith to patronize the hotel.

With a chain of companies all named “Blessed” the Afrikan Post inquired further into the motivation behind the Hotel and this is what they had to say. “We want to honor and glorify God in everything we do. In 1 Chronicles chapter 17:16, David said at his at his inauguration as king… "O Lord my God, who am I, and what is my family that you have brought me this far". The story of David is our story. We have lived by God's Grace all our life. To King David, God had brought him that far, but to us, not only has God taken us this far, but God has CARRIED us. That is why we have built a Hotel dedicated to God as a Christian Hotel where the Christian concept is upheld. Since the hotel opened its doors for service a few months ago it has received tremendous patronage from the Christian community including Rev. Morris Cerullo's Missions team and the Jehovah witnesses on their recent international conference in Ghana. The hotel has also become home to many Ministers who travel to Ghana and use the place for their quite time and seclusion for prayers. The 16 room Adonai hotel boasts of 24 hour security and surveillance cameras, and internet café, Car and Van rentals, Laundry services, Restaurant and has coffee makers and data ports in the various rooms for the convenience of their guests with 24-hour room service as the hallmark.

Located within 20 miles proximity to Ghana’s international Airport an airport shuttle is available upon request. The Hotel organizes inland tourism trips for guests accompanied by staff with extreme knowledge of the tourism terrain of Ghana.
