First Lady Lordina Mahama is in Maputo, Mozambique to attend the 7th Stop Cervical Cancer in Africa Conference.
Mrs. Mahama, will on Monday address the Conference and provide an update on Ghana’s efforts and new policy decisions to fight cervical and breast cancer. The three-day Conference, which opens on Sunday July 21, is organised by the Forum of African First Ladies Against Breast & Cervical Cancer.
The First Ladies will discuss strategies for creating awareness, mobilising funds, prevention and early detection of breast and cervical cancer.
An initiative of the Princess Nikky Breast Cancer Foundation, the Annual Conference also attracts the continent’s development partners and offers a platform for the First Ladies to share ideas and strategies to manage breast and cervical cancer situations in their respective countries.
Accompanying the First Lady, Mrs. Mahama, to the Conference is the Director General of the Ghana AIDS Commission, Dr. Angela El-Adas.
Mrs. Mahama is expected back home on Thursday July 25.
