Tema, Oct. 7, GNA - A Tema Circuit Court 'B' has sentenced Tetteh Quainor, a fisherman at Prampram to 10 years imprisonment in hard labour for defiling a 14-year old girl after getting her drunk.

He pleaded guilty to defilement and was convicted on his own plea. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Edith Nutakor told the court presided over by Mr Seth K. Teye that, on October 1, this year, Quainor met the victim at a wake keeping at Prampram and offered her a bottle of Fanta.

Chief Inspector Nutakor said the victim felt drowsy after drinking the mineral, and the accused person volunteered to send her home to sleep.

The prosecution said the gate to the victim's house was then locked and Quainor took advantage of that and forcibly had sex several times with her on the bare ground.

Chief Inspector Nutakor said a neighbour of the victim saw them and raised the alarm, but Quainor managed to escape.

He was later arrested and during interrogation, admitted the offence, the prosecution added.
