Five dead in Ayensudo bus-truck crash

A fatal collision occurred on Saturday, December 20, between a Toyota Hiace bus and a DAF truck at Ayensudo Meyinda on the Cape Coast-Takoradi Highway, resulting in the loss of five lives.

Both vehicles, the truck bearing registration GG 3227-25 and the bus with registration GW 9373-22, sustained significant damage.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) swiftly responded to the incident, dispatching a rescue team from the Komenda Fire Station.

Firefighters successfully rescued five passengers who were trapped inside the Hiace bus and collaborated with supporting agencies to retrieve the victims and clear the wreckage.

The team also cleared debris from the roadway, restoring traffic flow and ensuring public safety.

The cause of the accident remains unclear and is currently under investigation, according to reports.
