Five illegal operators arrested in Koforidua

Koforidua, May 31, GNA - Five illegal operators of the Department of National Lotteries (DNL) lotto numbers were arrested at Koforidua on Saturday in a joint police-DNL swoop.

Those arrested were Kwadwo Bekoe, Yao Koffi, George Asante, Asare Mintah and N.A. Essah.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency on Monday Mr Robert Anang, the Eastern Regional Manager of the DNL, said the arrests were made after the staff of the Department had staked the numbers from the suspects. He said the exercise would also be extended to the districts in the region since the pirating of the Department's numbers was still going on.

Mr Anang asked those interested in using the Department's numbers to register with it as receivers.
