Five people, including three officers of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), were injured after an angry mob attacked them at their residence in Ayigya, Oforikrom Municipality, Ashanti Region.
According to a report by Citinewsroom.com, the incident took place on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, when the officers were ambushed by the mob within their two-storey residence.
The attack was allegedly triggered by a neighbor of the immigration officers, who has been claiming ownership of the residence in an ongoing dispute.
Armed with machetes and other weapons, the mob stormed the residence and tried to set the building, along with its occupants, on fire.
Parts of the building were eventually set ablaze, and the attackers reportedly looted properties, including mobile phones and undisclosed amounts of money.
Meanwhile, seven individuals, including the main suspect, have been arrested by the police.
