African countries need to make it easier for persons to travel within the continent by air, Mr Yofi Grant, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), has said.
At the moment, he said, it is easier to fly to Europe than to fly within the African continent, a situation he said must be tackled immediately through political will and commitment.
In a tweet on Tuesday, November 19, Mr Grant said: “ The continent needs to open up to itself. Easier to fly to Europe than to fly within the continent.
“The need for easier access within is a prerequisite. Political Will and sincerity is required @GBFAfrica2019.”
Regarding trade on the continent, he said: “Investment climate, political will and a communal engagement in dissolving the barriers to trade in Africa essential. Africa must build it’s productive capacity to effectively facilitate intra continental trade. Moving from AID to Trade is also critical @GBFAfrica2019"
