Schools at Foase in the Atwima Kwawoma District of the Ashanti Region have been closed down, while commercial activities have been badly affected following a clash between residents and security officers during which two persons were shot dead Wednesday.
The residents of Foase locked up the District Chief Executive of Atwima Kwawoma District Hon Okyere Tawiah over relocation of District capital.
The clash ensued when the police Officers deployed to the area tried to unlock the DCE.
“We are highly disappointed in NPP government led by President Nana Addo because the way they are handling the issue is unfair. The Police and the Military team came here just to kill us but not to calm down the situation” some parents said.
Meanwhile, business activities in the area has come to a halt as traders out of fear have decided to stay in their homes until they’re convinced there’s peace in the community.
