Forces behind homosexuality are strong- Foh-Amoaning

Renowned Legal Practitioner and Lecturer at the Ghana School of Law, Moses Foh-Amoaning has asked the Christian Council of Ghana as well as all Religious bodies to rise up and resist the force behind homosexuality.

He has emphasized the need for the body of Christ to pray continuously since ‘the battle is not only a physical one but also a spiritual battle’.


According to him, the forces behind the recent endorsement of homosexuality in some countries are powerful, rich and they behave like evangelists propagating gays and lesbianism; hence the need to pray ceaselessly.


His reaction comes on the heels of the appointment of Nana Oye Lithur, Minister for Children, Gender and Social Protection and her alleged endorsement of homosexuals as well as the reported links Mr. Andrews Solomon, a renowned writer and a gay activist has with President Mahama.


Nana Oye Lithur, answering questions from members of the Appointments Committee, stated emphatically that she has never endorsed gays and lesbians, adding she only said everybody has rights which need to be protected.


A few days later, the President, John Mahama was connected to Mr. Andrews Solomon and the fact that he is lobbying for homosexuality to be legalized in the country.

Speaking in an interview with Tweneboa Kodua (TK) on Peace FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, the former chairman of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) said there is the need for prayers to be said for the President so that he can make wise decisions.


“That is why I am calling on our pastors and religious leaders to rise up and pray. They don’t only have to talk during the political season…The President and his government must understand that there is an international connection and the people who are pushing this thing are strong and mighty. We are not afraid of them; we are not going to insult them. With prayer we will overcome this thing and the victory will be ours. Nobody has said that they will kill homosexuals. We are only saying that it is not legal and it is not going to be allowed in this country.


But the President has taken a decision; I respect the President; he is a Christian and so probably his reason for appointing Nana Oye Lithur might be different but I will urge that as Christians we do not rest on our oars.


“We should pray for him. As for Nana Oye Lithur, we will be watching her; where she goes, what she writes, what she says, and the people she meets. We want to ensure that the work she does will be for Ghanaians and not to promote anything,” the renowned lawyer said.
