A former Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma Central constituency, Victor Okuley Nortey, has passed away.
He died on August 18, 2024, at Nyaho Clinic in Accra after a brief illness, a family source told GhanaWeb.com.
Nortey, born in 1958 in the Greater Accra Region, was first elected to Parliament in a 1999 by-election, representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He served as MP from March 26, 1999, to January 6, 2009, making him the longest-serving MP for the Ablekuma Central constituency.
He was a member of the fourth parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.
