-As the youth calls for his exit for nonperformance

As all indications point out that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) sitting Members of Parliament (MPs) will have it very difficult to retain their seats, come January 2012 when the party goes to the polls, the former minister of Employment and Social Welfare and Member of Parliament for Upper Manya constituency Hon. Stephen Amoanor Quao is definitely one of the big fishes expected to Fall.
Hon. Amoanor Quao would face a stiff challenge from a number of contestants; key among them is Mr. Jeff Kavianu a contractor and water and sanitation expect based in Koforidua.
Mr. Kavianu is a youth activists, a former constituency organizer, an ardent advocate of positive thinking and an experience contractor. Mr. Kavianu, whose strength and appeal lies with the youth, women and opinion leaders within the constituency is being urged by the teaming supporters of the party to contest in order to retain the seat for the NDC, this paper has learnt.
Investigation at the constituency reveals that the current occupant of the seat has lost touch with the grassroots which is calling for his exit, as indications are that the ruling NDC fortunes has dwelled over the years with the candidature of the former Employment and Social Welfare Minister in the Upper Manya Constituency, one of the strategic seats in the eastern region, if the party fails to adhere to the cry and wishes of the electorates. According to the youth groups we interacted with in the constituency, the former Minister and sitting MP is not approachable and appears very snobbish and arrogant to say the least.
Speaking in an exclusive interview, Mr. Joseph Tetteh Akotoku , who is a youth leader in the constituency said, the call on Mr. Jeff Kavianu to contest the seat for the 2012 elections is very necessary and strategic for the youth and the party in the constituency.
He extol the good works of Mr. Kavianu, especially in the area of searching for and providing jobs for the youth, organizing them for sporting activities and assisting them with their needs, so they would become responsible citizens for the benefit of the country.
He said, Mr. Kavianu, as a contractor has secured jobs and created opportunities for many of them and have the believes when given a bigger platform, he would do marvelously well to meet the aspiration, especially the youth.
Meanwhile Mr Joseph T. Akotoku in a stern warning to the former Minister said that, they are in the knowledge of his strategies to share monies and gifts to delegates before and during the primaries. These he said this time around will not work as most of the people and delegates will not scum to his selfish aspirations.
He called on the youth, women and especially the delegates in the constituency to throw their support behind Mr. Jeff Kavianu and support him to win the primaries and the parliamentary seat for the NDC to enable Prof. Mills get competent, youthful and zealous hands in Parliament to continue with its “Better Ghana Agenda”.
