Former Ghana Airways Staff Given Ultimatum

Former Ghana Airways Staff Given Up To Saturday To Vacate Bungalows following an unending negotiation for their compensation when the airline was liquidated

Dozens of former staff of the defunct Ghana Airways would be out of accommodation by Saturday.

They are fighting a looming eviction from official bungalows, which are to be repossessed by the defunct Airline's Liquidator. The staff have been given up to Saturday to vacate bungalows of the defunct airline so as to allow the liquidator evaluate the property as part of a process to finding prospective buyers to raise funds to pay their severance packages.

The former Ghana Airways staff have been engaged in an unending tussle with the Government over their compensation, which has still not been paid.

Management Consultant for the former staff of the airline, Mr Ato Conduah, therefore deems the eviction order as insensitive and brazen, since in his opinion, the former staff would be made to suffer twice for a situation which they did not create.

Mr Ato Conduah said he is astounded by the audacity of the Government to issue such an eviction order to the former Ghana Airways staff, especially, since they have been forced into a life of destitution to the extent that they have to scrounge to make a living.
