A former Member of Parliament for the Hohoe constituency in the Volta region of Ghana, Dr. Bernice Adiku Heloo, has passed away.
According to a report by 3news.com, Dr. Heloo, aged 70, reportedly died in the early hours of Wednesday, December 25, 2024, following a short illness.
This sad news is reported to have been confirmed by close family sources as well as sources within her party, the National Democratic Congress.
Born September 24, 1954, Dr. Heloo served as the Member of Parliament for Hohoe in the 6th and 7th Parliaments of the 4th Republic, from January 2013 until January 2020, when she chose not to contest her party’s parliamentary primaries.
She also served as the Deputy Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation during John Dramani Mahama’s first term in office from 2013 to 2017.
