Ex-NACOC boss Kenneth Adu-Amanfoh and two others face court over assault charges
The former Director-General of Ghana’s Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), Kenneth Adu-Amanfoh, along with two others, has been brought before a Kumasi Circuit Court on multiple charges, including stealing, assault, and exposing children to danger.
Adu-Amanfoh, who previously served under the New Patriotic Party administration, is alleged to have used armed personnel from his office in a personal dispute involving his estranged wife, Linda Adu-Amanfoh, who is the complainant in the case.
According to a report by myjoyonline.com, the complainant claims that the former NACOC boss instructed armed men to confront her and forcibly take their children away from her in Kumasi.
Court documents indicate that although Linda Adu-Amanfoh reported the incident to the authorities, her husband was not immediately arrested following the complaint.
The accused appeared in court on April 1, 2026, alongside two associates, Prosper Aproma and Abraham Tetteh, who are believed to have assisted in the alleged actions.
All three individuals are facing five charges, which include causing harm, assault, exposing children to danger, disturbing public peace, and theft.
They have all pleaded not guilty to the charges.
During the initial court proceedings, their lawyers applied for bail. However, the prosecution opposed any self-recognizance bail arrangement, insisting instead that sureties be provided.
The court eventually granted bail to the accused persons with conditions. Kenneth Adu-Amanfoh was granted bail in the sum of GH¢50,000 with two sureties, while the two co-accused were each granted bail of GH¢40,000 with two sureties.
The case has since been adjourned and is expected to return to court on May 13, 2026.
