Minority Spokesperson on Finance Cassiel Ato Forson has been urged to direct his five questions on the economy to the Governor of Bank of Ghana not the head of the Economy Management Team and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
“The Governor of Bank of Ghana may be the right person to answer these questions than any person in government”, according to Information Minister, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah.
Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson wants the former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) to concede that the country’s economy is struggling, despite efforts to revamp it.
He said the economy under the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has not been any better than it was under the past government.
“If it is about the Central Bank, then the Governor is responsible to answer any question” the government’s spokesperson spoke on Nhyira FM during a telephone interview monitored by MyNewsgh.com.
Meanwhile, Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is set to lead the Economic Management Team town hall meeting with stakeholders on the economy on April 3 in Accra.
Minister for Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said, he will be speaking on the theme “our progress, our status, our future”.
“The Meetings represent a major shift in Government’s policy to make information easily accessible and usable to the public here in and outside Ghana”, he added.
