Four students of the Kumasi Secondary Technical School (KSTS) have been arrested by the Tanoso Police in the Ashanti region for allegedly practicing occultism.

The students were allegedly caught at a construction site performing initiation rites for new members.

They are said to be second and final year students and are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

Isaac Opoku Sarkodie, Evans Oppong, Dominic Akwasi Acheampong and Derrick Dankwa were apprehended by residents of Nyankerenease, near Tanoso, at the site of a private developer’s project and later handed over to the police for interrogation.

According to Ultimate FM’s Isaac Bediako Justice, police seized blue powder, red calico and other strange materials from the students.

Abuakwa District Police Commander, Supt. Joseph Nyaaba, who confirmed the arrest of the students said a resident had earlier complained to the Police about activities of the suspects on the site which is being developed into a residential accommodation.

They were caught red-handed by the residents following the discovery of slaughtered black fowls, blue powder, calabash and some fetish substances.

The school authorities have revealed that they would comment on the issue in due course.
