The Juaben Circuit Court in the Ashanti region has granted a GH? 5,000.00 bail with a surety each, to four persons suspected to be in possession and smoking Indian hemp at Tafo, near Kumasi.

Tongo Boazo 53, a watchman, Opoku Gyimah 26, mason, Kwabena Eric 24, unemployed and Fred Nana Acheampong 17, a student, pleaded not guilty and would reappear before the court on December 21, this year.

Police Chief Inspector Dela Amenuvor, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr Yusif Osei Asibey, that the suspects were arrested by the Tafo-Pankrono Police on September 21, this year, during routine patrol duties.

He said the police spotted them smoking the dried leaves and arrested them.

Inspector Amenuvor said during a search, 40 wrapped pieces of the substance were found on Opoku.

He said though the suspects denied that the substances were Indian hemp, a police forensic investigations proved otherwise, and they were therefore arraigned.
