Dasah Seidu, a 63-year old pensioner, Yahaya Yakubu, 48, a farmer, Mahama Yakubu, a 52-year-old private security man and Barnabas Mensah, 54, an auto mechanic, pleaded not guilty and they would re-appear in court on May 9 this year.

Police Chief Inspector Felix Danku, said Abban Bukari, the complainant, who is a building contractor, dissolved his marriage sometime ago.

The prosecution said though Rabbi was married, she accepted the love proposal of Bukari.

Chief Inspector Danku said on Februrary 1 this year, Seidu, who is the father of Rabbi, received information that his daughter had gone to the complainant's house.

The prosecution said Seidu together with Yahaya Yakubu and Mahama Yakubu went to the house of the complainant and assaulted him and took Rabbi away.

Chief Insp. Danku said, when the complainant realized that Rabbi was married, he broke his relationship with her, and warned her not to come to him again.

The prosecution said the complainant reported the assault case to the police, but he did not pursue it.

Chief Insp. Danku said that, at about 2100 hours on February 22, the complainant was awakened by knocks on his door but he did not open.

The prosecution said later, the landlady of the complainant knocked on the door and when he (complainant) opened, he saw Yahaya Yakubu and Mahama Yakubu holding canes.

Chief Insp. Danku said the accused persons demanded Rabbi from the complainant, and he allowed the landlady and the accused to search his room but they did find her there.

The prosecution said the accused assaulted the complainant, and he raised the alarm, which attracted some people in the neighborhood, who rescued him (complainant).

Chief Insp. Danku said the complainant sustained wounds on his head and back, and was issued him with a medical form for treatment at the hospital.**
