Four wee peddlers arrested by Nsawam Police

The Nsawam Police arrested four wee peddlers in a swoop in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri municipality on the eve of Christmas

The Suspects are Kwadjo Issah Addo,32, lotto receiver, Joseph Alloman, 25, a Togolese trader, Kwame Okyere, 29, trader and Kwasi Brimpong,45, also a trader.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency during an interview at Nsawam on Thursday Supt. Akwasi Kankam Boadu, the Nsawam Police Commander, who led the operation said the swoop was a special operation aimed at subduing criminal activities in the Nsawam Municipality to make the Christmas a peaceful once.

Commander Kankam Boadu said the operation team was not just for criminals but to check other nefarious activities such as drunk-driving and over-speeding in other not to mar an otherwise peaceful Christmas.

The Commander said four huts belonging to the wee sellers have been destroyed by the Police.

Supt. Kankam Boadu said the suspects were at the Nsawam Police cells while investigating continued.

Supt. Kankam Boadu said the Police seized a quantity of the dried leaves which would be taken to the Accra Police Lab for test.
