Chief Inspector M.K. Yeboah of Dormaa police station told the court that the owner of Ampofo Poultry Farms at Dwen, near Dormaa Ahenkro, detected the frequent theft of his birds in 2007. Mr. Ampofo alerted colleague poultry and crop farmers in the area to be vigilant and help him to apprehend persons suspected of stealing the birds.

On April 14 thieves once again broke into the poultry farm and made away with several layers. Later in the day, Isaac was spotted near Dwen attempting to board a taxi cab with a fertilizer sack and when arrested 19 birds, 11 of them well dressed and smoked were found in the sack. Chief Inspector Yeboah said Isaac denied having stolen the birds but later confessed and mentioned Kyeremeh as the one he bought the 19 birds from.
