Freedom Aid Ghana donates to Accra Psychiatric Hospital

Freedom Aid Ghana (FAG) a non-profit organisation, (NGO) at the weekend donated items worth GH? 1,800 and an amount of GH? 200 to the Children’s Ward of Accra Psychiatric Hospital.

Mr Bright Adoboe, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the FAG said the organisation seeks to provide humanitarian services in the area of health service delivery in deprived communities.

He said the organisation is made up of a team of young leaders from diverse professions who are working together for the attainment of the goals of the FAG. Mr Adoboe said the FAG services and products are known for its qualities and have been very successful in providing healthcare services, notably in reducing health risks in communities over the past four years.

He said the organisation currently boast of three major free health screening and health seminar projects, both preventive and curative health care, in the Volta and Eastern Regions. The CEO said the organisation as it stands sees it necessary to increase its health promotion services in the country to educate the populace on how to live a healthy life.

He said this has become a major concern after realising the impending health challenges within the Ghanaian communities “and the increasing demands for our services by the good people of Ghana”. Mr Frank Henneh Obeng, a Staff Nurse of the Hospital who received the items on behalf of the Hospital Administration thanked the organisation for the gesture and appealed to other bodies to emulate the example.

The FAG was founded in December, 2008, and legally registered at the Registrar General’s Department in Accra in 2011. It's Mission is to develop a perfect platform that could be used to minimise the impending health challenges in the society through the provision of quality health services.
