An appeal has gone to the government of Ghana to make good drinking water number one priority to the citizenry. Speaking at the inauguration fund raising in the water projects of friends of New York Presbyterian Hospital – Ghanaian Community in New York, Dr. Samuel Mensah of Okyeniba Clinic in the Bronx who was Chairman for the occasion said access to good drinking water helps eradicate most diseases. Dr. Mensah insisted that since water is of basic necessity to human’s life. It was a good idea for the Association to have adopted as its theme. He personally donated $500 as his contribution.

The president of friends of New York Presbyterian Hospital Mr. Danso Abebrese a veteran broadcaster with GBC asked members to make useful donation for this cause. He said the proceeds will help eradicate guinea-worm disease in three most infected areas in Ghana. Those areas will be selected in due course and every assistance monetary will be given them. On the impending elections in Ghana Mr. Danso Abebrese asked members to call their family members left behind to advise them to make it violence free since politics is not a fight but issues and ideas. Dr. Anyani Yeboah and Nana Kuma Adjekum, both patrons of the Association advised members to uphold the Associations constitution. Music was by DJ. Law Mr. Emil Djampim was M.C. for the occasion.
