Friends of the Truth (FOT), a nongovernmental organization, on Thursday said it was making the necessary arrangements for Madam Gizelle Yadzi to meet the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).
The arrangement "is to make whatever the Lady has at her disposal available to CHRAJ in pursuance of the truth and nothing but the truth."
Alhaji Bature Iddrisu, Chairman of FOT, who announced this at a news conference in Accra, said although the organization aimed at tackling a wider range of national issues, it was highlighting the case of the purchase of a hotel by the son of President John Agyekum Kufuor due to its peculiar nature.
"First and foremost, our presidency has been tainted by suggestions that the President himself is behind the acquisition of the said hotel and is merely using his son Chief Kufuor as a decoy against the tenets of the Constitution," he said.
He said a lot of questions had cropped up about the issue especially the fact that "a State owned bank and a bank that is partly State owned are allegedly involved in the purchase of the hotel".
Alhaji Bature said the organization believed that in spite of all the opinions and notions held by people, "the truth may still be out there yet to be found".
The Chairman expressed the hope that the collective effort and the vigilance of the group could assist CHRAJ to unearth the truth of the case adding that it intended to mobilise intellectual material and financial resources among its membership to achieve the aim.
