Former Asante Kotoko player Christopher Nettey has temporarily switched from football to futsal, signing a short-term deal with Blessed Kickers.
Nettey, who played for Great Olympics last season, joined the futsal club after his contract with the relegated team expired.
The right-back, unable to secure a new deal during the transfer window, signed with the Accra-based futsal team to maintain his fitness.
He made his debut in a 4-3 victory over Adenta Youth, scoring in his first appearance for the team.
Nettey, who has previously been called up to the Black Stars, revealed that he plans to return to football in the January transfer window, either by signing with a Ghana Premier League club or moving abroad.
Before the transfer window closed in August 2024, the 26-year-old was linked with a move to Hearts of Oak, but no deal was finalized.
The Ghana Premier League winner has made 96 appearances for both Kotoko and Olympics, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
