Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Petronia City Development Company Ltd and Wonda World Estates, Nana Kwame Bediako, has left many Ghanaians sceptical about the source of his wealth.

According to Nana Bediako, who is also known as Cheddar, he earned a million pounds for himself, selling scrap, steel, and telecommunications materials while in school at Waltham Forest College at the age of 21.

He also added that he bought a cellphone and a car three weeks after he started his university education to begin his business operations.

Nana Bediako who made this revelation on Joy FM’s ‘Drive Time’ show said, “I started college and the first three weeks I bought a car, mobile phone and started my business.”

His interview with Bola Ray, on his lifestyle show ‘Revealed with Bola Ray’ however, showed an entirely different narrative.

Cheddar revealed that in 2001, he made a resolute decision to come to Africa at the age of 21 to build his ‘empire’, and this statement was in sharp contrast to his recent revelation; where he said he was in school at the time.

“In 2001, I was just turning 21, and I decided to come to Africa. To build a new Africa, I had a vision, unlike Martin Luther who had a dream, I had a vision for Africa and I always believed that there was so much that had to be done, especially me being outside and travelling around the world,” he stated.

The reception to his success story was nothing short of plain disbelief, but to the young ‘self-made’ millionaire, his image is how he perceives his life.

“You have to live life like an art, you need to think about the things you do. Image is basically a perception of life. We can see that, we draw it, we paint the picture, we live life by a picture we paint, so that’s how I do things,” he said.
