Frozen machine characterized voting at Prampram

Some verification machines in the Ningo-Prampram got frozen leading to some delay in the voting exercise.

The machines at the Anglican JHS polling centre and the Town Planning Office polling centre ‘A’ got frozen for some minutes and officials had to wait for some time before resuming the voting exercise.

Mr Solomon Djangmah, Presiding Officer of the Town Planning Office polling centre ‘A’ told the Ghana News Agency that out of the 831 names in the register, only 20 people have successfully cast their votes as at 08:22 hours due to the freezing of the machine.

Mr Djangmah added that the exercise which was supposed to start at 07:00 hours started 30minutes late due to the late arrival of the electoral materials.

Mr Raphael Nartey, Presiding Officer for the Anglican JHS polling centre also complained of the machine freezing. The centre, which has 677 registered voters, also started 30 minutes late.

At the Dangme Local Council polling centre, 60 people have cast their vote as at 08:00 hours even though the exercise started late.

Mr Ebenezer Teye Mensah, Presiding Officer for the centre said the centre has 574 total registered voters.

Mr Mensah added that the exercise so far has been very smooth, and the electorates cooperating well with the officials.

Mr Gabby Dakudedzi, the first person to vote at the centre the Ghana News Agency he was very impressed with the election process since it was very fast.
