Frustration at morgues intensifies following mortuary workers’ strike
The ongoing strike by Mortuary workers is likely to have a heavy toll on families scheduled to retrieve the bodies of their love ones for burial this weekend.
The mortuary workers began an industrial action this Wednesday to demand better working conditions from their employers-Health Ministry.
This is the second time in a row that Mortuary workers have laid down their tools to fight for salary increment.
Early on, families that visited some premier facilities and other government hospitals were left stranded at the various morgues following the strike by mortuary men.
Unfortunately, the problem is expected to intensify today, Friday, as more families flood the morgues to retrieve remains of their family members for burial.
