Head coach of Karela FC, Johnson Smith, says he’s not perturbed about the 1-0 loss against Hearts in the opening game of the G8 tournament which was played at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Isaac Mensah’s solitary strike ensured the Phobians secured all three points in a very fascinating encounter at the Cape Cost Sports Stadium.
According to the highly experienced gaffer, this competition offers them the opportunity to compete with some Premier League giants, as they relish a successful debut in the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.
“It is good for opportunity for we the upcoming clubs to compete with some premier league teams and with match against no other team than Hearts, the performance wasn’t bad.
“I hope my boys will pick up in subsquent matches for us to get somewhere before the start of the league,” Smith said in a post-match interview.
Meanwhile, Karela FC will have the chance to kick start their winning streak in this competition when the face Ebusua Dwarfs next Wednesday.
