The national recruitment exercise resumed on Thursday, November 20, 2025, after it was temporarily suspended on November 12, following a tragic stampede that claimed the lives of at least six potential recruits.

Since reopening, close to a thousand candidates have gone through the screening process.

A delegation from Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, led by its Chairman, James Agalga, visited the recruitment centre to monitor the conduct of the exercise.

Agalga commended the Armed Forces for improvements made following the earlier incident and expressed satisfaction with the ongoing process.

The GAF has reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent, fair, and secure recruitment process as thousands of prospective recruits continue to participate nationwide.
