“Selected potential recruits for the first batch include 18 personnel who got injured during the El-Wak Stadium stampede last year. Five others were sponsored by the families of the deceased during the El-Wak stampede,” the statement said.

The Armed Forces indicated that all selected personnel are to report to their various selection centres across the country’s 16 regions on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 9:00 am to receive their appointment letters and prospectus.

“All potential applicants who had curable medical issues at the medical stage are encouraged to seek medical attention as they would be invited again for a review at a later date at no cost,” the statement added.

GAF also expressed gratitude to the 16 Regional Administrations for their support, noting that the recruitment exercise was organised at the regional level in line with government directives to bring recruitment closer to potential applicants.

“We are grateful to all the 16 Regional Administrations for their immense support that enabled this year’s exercise to be organised at the regional level,” the statement read.

The military appealed to the remaining applicants to remain calm as selections continue for the remaining batches.

It also disclosed that a pool of high-performing applicants from the aptitude test will be considered for future recruitment exercises beyond this year.

“The Military is pleased to indicate that it has a pool of young applicants who scored high marks during the aptitude test and will therefore make selection from the pool for subsequent recruitment exercises beyond this year,” the statement said.

GAF also noted that consideration is ongoing for facilitating recruitment of persons from Sikaman in the Ashanti Region, who assisted the military during last year’s helicopter crash rescue operation, in the second batch of training.
