The second batch of recruits for the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has officially arrived at various designated training facilities across the country to begin their Basic Military Training on Friday, 23 October 2026.

The prospective soldiers reported to several key institutions, including the Army Recruit Training School, the Air Force Recruit Training School, and the Navy Recruit Training School. Other facilities receiving recruits for the exercise are the Armour Training School and the Army Special Operations Training School.

Over the next six months, the recruits will undergo rigorous basic military training designed to instill discipline, professionalism, and the core values of the Ghana Armed Forces. The intensive program serves as a foundational step in shaping the new intake into dedicated servicemen and servicewomen.

Throughout the training period, the curriculum will cover essential military subjects such as field craft, first aid, weapon handling, drill exercises, map reading, and physical training. The comprehensive instruction aims to equip the recruits with the requisite skills and knowledge required to uphold the high standards, traditions, and operational integrity of the GAF.

The commencement of the training exercise marks a major milestone for the recruits as they take their first steps toward building careers as professional military personnel in service to the nation.
