The Ministry of Health and the Ghana Federation of Traditional Medicine Practitioners (GAFTRAM) today met to deliberate on how Ghana can find a cure to the deadly coronavirus infections in the country.

Ghana Federation of Traditional Medicine Practitioners (GAFTRAM) has expressed concern about the delay in testing the herbal drugs submitted to the Health and Standard Authorities for verification and validation.

The General Secretary of GAFTRAM, Nana Kwadwo Obiri in an Exclusive interview with Kingdom FM disclosed that, the organization and the Ministry of Health has agreed on the outcome, hence the Health Ministry has agreed to engage and seek for their support in wake of the novel Coronavirus infection.

“Everything went well with the meeting. At the end of the meeting both GAFTRAM and the Health Ministry have agreed on a successful outcome”, he said

According to some members of the organization, while other countries are supporting their Research and Pharmaceutical Companies to find a cure to COVID-19 and other diseases, Ghana’s story seems to be different.

Speaking to Otumfuor Aumankwaahene, Baafour Asabre Kogyawoso Ababio, he believes that traditional medicine in Ghana can cure the novel coronavirus infections if the government of Ghana gives them the necessary support.

“It was our duty to draw government attention to our concerns and plea. The government ignored us at the time our help would’ve been significant but rather involved only the medical health officials. The government made a mistake by engaging only these medical health officials”, he stressed.
