The state broadcaster, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) has postponed indefinitely its scheduled presidential forum.
GBC says the debate scheduled for Thursday was postponed because of technical reasons.
But it is yet to announce a new date.
The management of the corporation has however scheduled a meeting with all the political parties on Monday to discuss a new date.
But some insiders and observers however say the postponement is as a result of some doubts cast on the debate by some presidential candidates invited to participate in it.
The Office of the President has issued a statement saying President Kufuor would not participate in it because the organisers did not directly inform him of it.
The Grand Coalition?s candidate, Dr. Edward Mahama told JoyNews that he would reconsider any invitation by GBC to participate in any debate or forum because of the state broadcaster?s inability to broadcast last Tuesday?s IEA? organised presidential debate.
He also complained that he was given a short notice.
The CPP?s candidate, George Aggudey however told JoyNews that he was ready to debate at anytime.
The NDC on the other hand says the postponement would disrupt their campaign programme.
National Youth Organiser of the party, Haruna Iddrisu told JoyNews that they had factored the programme in the campaign schedule of Professor Mills and calling it off at the last minute would affect his strategy.
