GCB expresses shock at Deputy MD's murder

Accra, July 4, GNA - The Board, Management and staff of Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) are in shock at the murder of Mr. Roko Frimpong, until then the Deputy Managing Director (operations) of the Bank. A statement issued by GCB in Accra said, Mr. Frimpong, an executive member of the Board, by virtue of his position, was involved in major strategic decisions by the Bank, some of which led to the networking of all the Bank's 133 branches.

"We are still in shock at this heinous crime and we pray that the perpetrators are soon brought to book.

"While waiting for the findings of the Police, the Bank has set aside 10,000 Ghana cedis or 100 million cedis as reward for anybody with information that would lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of this despicable crime.

"We appreciate the prompt response of the police in putting up a reward sum of 2,000 Ghana cedis or 20 million cedis for information on the murderers," the statement said.

The Bank assured its customers and shareholders who continue to call to sympathize that, it would work assiduously with the police to arrest the murderers.

"While we grieve at the loss of our colleague, our tears go to his wife and children, as well as other family members."
