GDP, economic jargons caused Bawumia’s ailment - Former NPP MP

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, Justice Joe Appiah, says the ailment of Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia should be blamed on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and other economic jargons.

Joe Appiah on Home-based TV said the Head of the Economic Management Team of the country has in the last year since assuming office concerned himself so much with putting the economy back to shape resulting in his ailment.

“The GDP, Micro, Macro and economic stability among others issues caused his ailment. The way the NDC has ruined the country, the man is stressed. The man is always thinking of GDP, Macro and Microeconomic stability why he won’t fall sick”, he claimed.

Asked by the host if he really meant thoughts of GDP and use of economic jargons could make someone sick he responded in the affirmative.

“Have you not been hearing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo accused the NDC of the wanton dissipation of state resources? The NDC destroyed the country beyond comprehension and Bawumia and his team have been confronted with a bigger challenge reason for his sickness”, he added.

The former lawmaker accused the former government of failing to live up to their mandate leaving behind a huge debt but the frantic efforts of the current government have resulted in the stability of the economy.

“They almost destroyed Ghana and now they have the nerves to come and speak loud about issues of the country. They should keep quiet and allow him to recover in order to come back and take charge of the economy”, he said.

But colleague former Member of Parliament for the La Dadekotopon constituency, Nii Amasah Namoale on the same show, blamed the ailment of Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to a shock he suffered following an announcement by President to go for a second term in 2020.

“There was a meeting at the Flagstaff House and President Akufo-Addo said he wanted to attend the investiture of George Weah in Liberia so that when he is being sworn into office during his second term, he will also extend the same gesture by gracing his investiture. Bawumia suffered a shock after his Blood Pressure”, he claimed; insisting it is just BP and nothing serious.
