GES transfers Bishop Girls teachers.

Thu, 16 Apr 1998 Source: --

The Ghana Education Service has decided to transfer the entire staff of the Bishop Girls School on the High street apparently to give the school a new image. The Deputy Director General of the Education Service Mr. Alex Tetteh Enyo said the decision was taken by the disciplinary Committee of the GES based on a report submitted by the Accra District Education Office after it had investigated the matter. Meanwhile two of the culprits who inserted a concoction of pepper ginger and garlic in the private parts of some pupils of the school have been interdicted. They are Miss Victoria Agyekum and Miss Augustina Tagoe. It will be recalled that a month ago JOY FM broke the disturbing news that some teachers of Bishop Girls School inserted this hot mixture which is said to be a normal practice at the school into the private parts of some pupils. Some pupils fainted and were hospitalised. In another development, the International Club of Journalists for Children's Rights, ICJCR would hold a press conference this morning on another indecent assault on certain pupils of Tahless Bishop School at Nungua, the capital, Accra. The proprietor and head teacher of the school, Mr. Tahless Bishop is reported to have sexually assaulted some of the pupils with his fingers. Mr. Tahless Bishop however denies these allegations saying he was only teaching them human anatomy lessons as prescribed by the new JSS syllabus. JOY
