The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has imposed a one-year ban on five officials of Real Tamale United (RTU) from all football-related activities.

The sanctions follow a serious breach of regulations during the Matchday 28 game against Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dreams.

The banned officials include Iddi Manzah Alhassan, Abdul-Samed Iddrisu, Abdul-Gafaru Salifu, Tanko Jentumah, and Sylvester Yaw Apanka.

The committee's decision comes in response to their involvement in an incident where RTU used unregistered players to impersonate officially registered players, thus deceiving the match officials.

This act of misconduct was found to compromise the integrity of the game and the fairness of the competition.

The GFA's decision to impose these bans underscores its commitment to upholding high standards of conduct and ensuring accountability within the sport.

The one-year bans are effective immediately and are intended to reinforce the importance of ethical behavior in football administration.

The controversy arose when RTU, facing a challenging situation due to the refusal of their registered players to travel, resorted to using unregistered players against Dreams FC. They lost 8-1 in Dawu.

While the club admitted guilt and sought leniency, explaining that their actions were driven by necessity, the GFA Disciplinary Committee determined that the severity of the breach warranted strict penalties.
