GFA’s Club Licencing Board give Premier League clubs final ultimatum

The Secretary of the GFA Club Licensing Board, Emmanuel Dasoberi says his outfit plans on getting tough on Premier League clubs who do not want to comply with the directive and criteria necessary to make them compliant and eligible to participate in FA competitions.

This comes after the Board revoke the provisional licence it gave to Dansoman Liberty Professionals following the discovery of three snakes at their Carl Reindorf Park.

Liberty Professionals' provisional license was revoked after their inability to rectify the infrastructural challenges based on which they were granted a provisional license with conditions, failing which the license shall be withdrawn.

According to Mr Dasoberi, every club who was given a provisional license to operate in Ghana’s domestic league should try and fulfil the requirements else will suffer the same fate with Liberty Professionals FC.

In an interview with ghanaweb.com, Mr Dasoberi said "the Board raised issues with the weedy nature of the surroundings and also they had to improve the quality of the pitch and we gave them up to the January 10, to clear the weeds from their surroundings but upon getting reports that people saw snakes around the match venue in the game against Hearts of Oak we triggered the decision to revoke the provisional license we issued to them"

"All the Premier League clubs except Inter Allies were given a provisional license. Sometimes it is not all about the pitch but there are certain regulations outside the pitch you must fulfil"

"Licensing is not all about the stadiums but comes in 5 different criteria and these are the five requirements are the sporting criteria, the infrastructure criteria, personnel and administrative criteria, finance criteria and then legal criteria and so far it is only Inter Allies who met all these criteria and the others were given 30 days to fulfil whatever they were asked to do"

"The Board will be meeting later today (Wednesday) to review the activities of the club (Liberty) based on what they were asked to do and bring out a statement of the decision taken by the board with the appropriate sanctions to be given," he added.
