The Ghana Armed Forces and a detachment of the United States Special Fores are engaged in a two-week joint training exercise in the Northern Region. The exercise, which started on Monday, is under a Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET '95) programme.
A press release issued in Accra recently by the Public Relations Directorate of the Ghana Armed Forces, said the objective of the of the exercise was to carry out specialist training in parachuting and advanced infantry skills for selected personnel of the Ghana Army, with support from the Ghana Air Force and the U.S. Special Forces.
The exercise, it said, would take place in military camps mainly at Tamale and Daboya. `JCET '95 is a follow up to similar programmes held in 1993 and 1994. The release advised the public to take note of troops movements to,from and within the areas mentioned.
