GHANAIR IMPROVES SERVICES AT HEATHROW

As part of its on - going improvement programme , Ghana Airways had updated services offered to its passengers at Heatrow Airport, London. The new services include a "red carpet check in for premier Business Class passengers and a Fastrack, a new system which enables this category of passengers to by-pass the usual queuing process for security and immigration. The system also ensures a speedy and efficient departure process. In a statement in Accra yesterday , it said that an executive lounge , known as Shamrock Lounge ,provided by the airline's new ground handlers , Aer LIngus, offered premier Business Class passengers a considerable benefits including comfort, refreshments , facsimile and telephone facilities. The airline said had also signed new interline ticketing agreements with a number of airlines operating in the U.K, namely British Midland, for instance, offers Ghana Airways passengers arriving at or from Heathrow quicker and cheaper connections to Glasgow , Edinburgh, Belfast, Dublin, and Leeds-Bradford. By these interline arrangements and through its London station, Ghana Airways has opened up its route network to cover more destinations worldwide. It currently operates three weekly flights between Accra and London. A fourth weekly flight, operated in day time and on Sundays , will start on June 29.
