The Headmaster of Ghana Senior High School (GHANASS), Reverend Abraham Donkor, has been invited by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.
He was invited to answer questions over an alleged fraud activities in the school feeding programme.
The headmaster who is believed to be in possession of the school’s food product given by the government is to face the law.
Addressing the media in Accra, The Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mr Ebenezer Tetteh, stated that, the school’s matron and its security man have been invited over to help in investigations.
According to him, the school was yet to lodge a formal complaint with the police on the alleged robbery by the School’s matron.
“It appears the school authorities want to hush up the matter, but we have also heard it on radio, and the media curiosity over the issue is high, and so we have invited the headmaster, the matron and the security man of the school for our own investigations.”
However, a report has it that, food supplies meant for feeding students of GHANASS were being diverted by the school’s matron.
According to a close sources, the matron carted the food supplies out of the school, which she later sold using a Ghana Education Service (GES) vehicle, with registration number GN 5717-15.
“Upon inspection, the security man is said to have discovered several boxes of sardines and tinned tomatoes which were apparently being carted from the school.”
The source who spoke on anonymity, added that, while he rushed to inform the school’s storekeeper to come and witness what he had found, the driver and the matron drove off.”
