GHOne TV’s multiple award-winning journalist, Ridwan Karim Dini-Osman has been named as a finalist for the West Africa Media Excellence Awards which recognizes journalists’ works.
According to the Executive Director, Suleiman Braimah, the competition received over 600 entries of outstanding stories from journalists across 12 countries in West Africa.
The three-member panel of judges after a thorough review of the entries shortlisted 18 finalists for seven out of 14 categories.
The entries which cover print, electronic and online media were received from about 250 journalists from over 150 media houses across the region.
These outstanding works of journalism came in many categories including SDGs, Health, Anti-Corruption, Investigative, Oil and Gas reporting, and ECOWAS and Regional Integration.
Ridwan Karim Dini-Osman is a recipient of the 2018 Lorenzo Natali Media Prize, a global prestigious award run by the European Commission.
The young television news presenter and producer, in May 2018, was named as a finalist for the 2018 edition of the International Centre for Journalists’ prestigious Michael Elliott Award.
He is also a recipient of the African Media Initiative award for Best African Journalist for Peace and Security Reporting 2017 and 2016 Best Journalist Award in Rural Reporting from the Ghana Journalists Association.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

The West Africa Media Excellence Conference and Awards is an initiative of the MFWA to promote media excellence in the sub-region.
The Conference will deliberate on key challenges to media development and explore ways support the media to promote good governance, regional integration and peace in West Africa while the Awards Ceremony honours West African journalists who have produced compelling works which have had a significant impact on society.
Finalists will be hosted at the Awards event on the October 13, and also participate in the West Africa Media Excellence Conference on the 10-11 October 2018 at the Swiss Spirit Alisa Hotel, in Accra Ghana.
